Never ever have I ever felt so low…
Our main character Jess (play write and actor Natasha Granger) sobs madly before breaking in to a teary rendition of All Saints Never Ever, the rest of the cast joining her from the stairs to complete the 4 piece set up of the show.
Jess is on the business end of a post break up sob fest when her 3 best friends convince her to try out a speed dating night. Totally old school, right? Right!
As we watch these women delve in to the unpredictable world of speed dating, their very different personalities shine through. Bethany Black is brilliant as the marriage obsessed Amanda, picking an unsuspecting audience member as her would be stalkee and springing an unexpectedly awesome voice on us as she sings to him. Alongside her is Eliza Hewitt-Jones as Charlie, her strong personality and take no crap attitude makes her a refreshing character to watch.
Kerrie Thomason is especially hilarious as Molly, an air headish type who turns out to not be quite what she seems. Her one liners, pulled faces and gyrating dance moves had me absolutely dying of laughter; I will definitely be looking out for more of her work in the future.
This musical comedy is laced with 90’s anthems skilfully woven in to the dialogue that will have you singing for days afterwards. In all a hilarious and greatly comedic production from a wonderfully talented all female cast.
